Why can money make us feel secure and energized when we have it—and anxious or depleted when we do not? Is wanting financial abundance necessarily greed?

In this episode, a young person with Big Yin energy asks Seuseungnim how someone who feels naturally drawn to material resources should approach money without becoming consumed by greed.

Seuseungnim explains that the moment obtaining money becomes our primary goal, our attention shifts away from developing the qualities needed to properly receive and use it. The same principle can apply when we become fixated on health, relationships, or any particular outcome. Attachment narrows our vision and can prevent us from recognizing other valuable opportunities appearing around us.

He contrasts the force of attachment with inner strength. According to this teaching, inner strength grows as we develop ourselves through understanding Nature’s principles. Rather than chasing what we want, we build our capacity so that the resources and circumstances appropriate to our work can naturally come to us.

Seuseungnim also explains that neither greed nor attachment can simply be eliminated through willpower. Telling ourselves, “Don’t be greedy” or “Let go of your attachment” is not enough. When we truly understand how greed and attachment arise and operate, the need to cling to them gradually disappears.

The episode then explores how to receive Jungbub itself. Seuseungnim advises us not to struggle to memorize, analyze, or force ourselves to understand every teaching. Receive what genuinely makes sense to you today and let the rest go for now. As your capacity develops, what once seemed difficult may naturally become clear.

This teaching offers a different path to abundance: instead of chasing money, outcomes, or even understanding itself, develop your inner strength. As your capacity grows, your relationship with the world around you begins to change.
