Life, Explained
Questions for the Master explores the questions that touch every part of our lives: relationships, family, work, money, self-esteem, jealousy, attachment, happiness, and personal growth.
People from all walks of life bring their real questions and struggles to Master Cheon Gong, whom his students call Seuseungnim, or Great Mentor. As a Korean teacher, Seuseungnim offers a deeper perspective on why difficulties arise in our lives, what they may be teaching us, and how we can grow through them.
Through the teachings of Jungbub, Seuseungnim explains the principles of human relationships, society, and Grand Nature in practical ways that can be applied to everyday life.
Each episode begins with a question: sometimes deeply personal, sometimes universal, and invites us to look beyond the problem itself to discover a deeper understanding of our lives and circumstances.
These lectures have been carefully translated, proofread, and dubbed into English so that Seuseungnim's teachings can be shared with listeners around the world.

Episode Description — High Ideals or Greed
Is wanting to succeed, accomplish something meaningful, or reach a higher level necessarily a form of greed? Or could what we call greed sometimes be something very different?
In this episode, a mother asks on behalf of her daughter, who worries that her strong desire to succeed and do better may come from greed. After years of studying Jungbub, she wants to understand how to transform these inborn tendencies and continue developing herself.
Seuseungnim offers a different perspective: Hongikingans are meant to have ambition and high ideals. The real question is not whether our aspirations are too great, but whether we are developing ourselves enough to match them.
As our understanding and capacity grow, our ideals can naturally become higher. But when our personal development has not yet caught up with those ideals, we may experience repeated failures and mistakenly conclude that our aspirations themselves are the problem.
Seuseungnim explains that this is why education must continue throughout life. School provides only a basic foundation. Once we enter society, we must continue learning, refining ourselves, and developing whatever qualities and abilities are necessary to fulfill the ideals we carry.
This teaching offers an important distinction between greed and aspiration: having high ideals is not something to suppress. Instead, we must continue growing until we become capable of carrying them.
